\"\"While the majority focus is on the upcoming class of 2013 in recruiting circles, \u00a0it is not unusual for the bigger schools to extend offers to the next class which would be 2014 in this case. \u00a0The Miami Hurricanes have gotten a jump on the race for 2014 talent by extending 26 offers already.<\/p>\n

Breaking down the positions that the Canes have extended 2014 offers to:<\/p>\n

4 Running Backs
\n5 wide receivers
\n2 Tight Ends
\n5 Offensive Linemen
\n3 Defensive Tackles
\n2 Defensive Ends
\n4 Linebackers
\n1 Defensive Back<\/p>\n

Notables among the offered are Sony Michel, \u00a0running back out of American Heritage High School in Plantation. \u00a0Michel has been on the recruiting radar for three years now despite moving into his junior year this coming Fall. \u00a0Michel was offered by the Canes as a freshman. \u00a0Miami Central running back Dalvin Cook also has an offer from the Canes. \u00a0Jamil Kamara, \u00a0wide receiver out of Virginia also has a Cane offer. \u00a0The 6’2″ 190 lb. prospect can count Miami as one of 23 offers he is currently holding. \u00a06’7″ offensive tackle Orlando Brown out of Suwanee, GA has 17 offers with Miami being one of them.<\/p>\n

On the defensive side of the ball, \u00a0Woodbridge, VA defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand has a Miami Hurricane offer among 24 others from big programs around the country. \u00a0Defensive End Andrew Brown out of Chesapeake, VA has 23 offers with Miami being one of them. \u00a0Defensive Back Quin Blanding is one of the most heavily recruiting 2014 defensive backs with 21 offers and Miami is a part of that group.<\/p>\n

Of the 26 offers the Canes have extended to 2014 prospect at this point, \u00a015 of them belong to players that reside outside of the state of Florida. \u00a0The Canes have only one commit out of the 2014 class thus far and that is Miami Central H.S. offensive tackle Trevor Darling who pledged to the Canes on April 5th of this year.<\/p>\n
